Hi Everybody!
What a month! It's been a bit
of a crazy one here at The Manly Sisters HQ, from venue hunting, to
show producing, and of course a bit of performing too, we haven't
even had time to scratch our heads (with or with a wig on!).
After a few false starts, and just
when we though we'd be heading back to Templebar, our plans were
once again thrown in the air with the news that the the final
curtain had fallen on Templebar itself, with owner Herman deciding
to sell the popular cabaret venue.
With stiletto's in hand, we rushed
off in search of a new venue, but after stumbling through the
doors of the delightful Dantes in Fitzroy, we knew the search
was over before it even began! And with that, The Manly
Sisters & Spag n Drag were back in business!

and Slash has held the reins for the last couple of years, so to

Hi
Everybody,
I'm
so excited... and I just cant hide it, I'm about to lose
control and I think I like it.. thank goodness I got
that out of my system lol!
Lots
of exciting news this month, but firstly I wanted to
tell you all about my very own one 'woman'
show... It's called 'Close
Shave... with Jillette 'the best a man can get'.
As a performer you're always looking for new challenges
and new hurdles, or as Mark Holden might say tyring to
'raise the bar'. So when the opportunity arose to
do a solo season at Templebar , I couldn't refuse.
The season will run for six weeks, and starts on the
17th July. There's some info below, or check out
our 'on
stage' page for booking details.
Anyway,
enough bout me! It's time to take you "Back
to the 80's", my favourite period of music, and
The Manly Sisters first full production show for the
year! (I know, it seems like it was only a few weeks ago
The Movie Musicals show was closing).
But
this isn't just another drag show, we're putting on a
night that will cater for everyone - it's about great
music, happy hour drinks, a fab dance floor, table
seating, finger food, plus a venue that can handle group
bookings, while still having room to put on a great
show. What more could you want?!
Not
only will you get The Manly Sisters, you'll have music
from the award winning Guy DJ, an option for your group
to have table seating and finger food on arrival, plus a
huge stage to dance the night away throughout the night.
All this at the fabulous Bar 362 in St Kilda.
..and for those of you worried about the whereabouts of
Claire 'with the hair', she's coming along too, this
time round as our stage manager! We're calling it The
Manly's Monthly, and it's the only place in town
you'll get to see our new 'Back to the 80's' show!

Everybody,
Welcome to the latest Jack & Jill News! In what will
be no surprise for those of you who have visited our
website lately, The Jack and Jill Show has gotten a
little bit bigger!
To
begin with, we've welcomed two new cast members -
Christina Andrews and Miss Bunny (we worked with both of
them in The Sound of Music Drag Show and Grease the Drag
Show!), and to accommodate our growth, we've changed our
name to The Manly Sisters Drag Show!
No
need to worry though, Jackie, Claire and myself are
still here and the craziness that was the Jack and Jill
Show is sure to continue for some time yet!

news!
A
huge thankyou to all of you who joined us to
help celebrate Jill's birthday last
month. By all accounts, a great night
was had by all, and Jill woke up with a
shocking hangover (I guess you've got to
expect that at her age lol)

With
the end of the year fast approaching, Jackie
and I have decided to have a break from our
weekly show at Templebar, and that means,
the current season of The Movie Musicals
Drag Show must end!
We've
had a fabulous season of the show, our
biggest production to date, but after 4
years of treading the stage at Templebar
have decided a bit of a 'break' is in order,
and will be 'temporarily' hanging up our stiletto's!
If
you haven't seen the show yet, there's not
much time left.... we have limited
seats available for this Saturday 13th and
even more limited availability for closing
night on the 20th.
The
show features all you favourite music from Chicago, Sister Act,
Annie, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Wizard
of Oz, Rocky Horror, Grease and Hairspray!
All rolled into once neat
little story! Don't
miss you last opportunity to discover the
untold story of Annie, The Nanny and a
Tranny from Oz!

Hi Everybody...
Welcome
to the August edition of Jack and Jill
News! Well
what a big month it has been! We've
returned from our 'Winter Vacation', and our
Thailand tans have now all but washed
away! It was an absolutely fabulous
holiday, although it was also good to get
back home! A very BIG thankyou to the
fabulous 'Fanny-May Cracker' who held down
the roost while we were away... the
rave reviews about her show haven't stopped
since we got back! The
big news from the world of Jack and Jill
this month, is that we're moving... to SATURDAY
nights starting this weekend! Now
you can enjoy the Jack and Jill 'Dinner
& Drag' Show every Saturday!
And not only that, Templebar has come to the
party announcing "Happy Hour"
prices between 5 and 7pm every Saturday
night! Now The Jack and Jill
show really is the best value night
around. Drop in for a fabulous dinner
and show before you head out for a night on
the town, or get a group together and make a
night of it at Templebar! Tickets
are still just $35 for dinner and show, or
$25 for our finger food menu, and don't
forget to try a Jack and Jill Cocktail...
just $8 each! This

June is shaping up to be a HUGE month at
Templebar... while we take a couple of
weeks off (We're jetting off to Thailand for
a bit of R 'n' R - and maybe a bit of a 'nip n tuck' for Jackie!), Slash Darling
& Spag n Drag just
gets bigger and better, and Melbourne
Comedian Fanny-May
Cracker drops by for a bit of light
hearted Friday night entertainment.  Fanny-May
Cracker....
Colleen
Charles is Fanny-May Cracker, an
octogenarian Country and Western star whose
long life has been blessed with twelve
husbands, many lovers, a lot of surgery and
countless hit singles, and she's droppin' by
Templebar Precinct for two extra special
shows on Friday the 20th and Friday the 27th
June 2008.
This
one woman show (direct from the Melbourne
International Comedy Festival) is a unique
brand of cleverly written but ever so
inappropriate humour, interspersed with your
favourite Country and Western hits (which
are a little different from the way you
remember them,) and is sure to please anyone
who loves (or hates) a good Fanny joke.

n Drag with Slash Darling
The Wednesday night institution that is SPAG
n DRAG just gets BIGGER and BETTER for
2008... Now
in it's 3rd big year, Slash Darling has
taken the helm and
in true Slash style has the audience's
begging for more each week.
Still
the best value night in town (just $12 for
pasta dish of your choice and Drag Show)
this is one mid-week Drag show you can't
afford to miss.

right we're back at Templebar from the 4th
